Marissa Pletz lives on the scenic Central Coast in NSW, Australia.
Welcome!
I’m Marissa, an emerging Australian contemporary artist drawn to the energy of colour, the freedom of abstraction and the beauty of the unexpected.
Balancing a demanding public affairs career with the everyday busyness of life with a young family, I understand how overwhelming the world can feel. Art is my way of creating space for something different — a moment of colour, a shift in perspective, or a reminder to notice the beauty in the everyday.
My practice explores colour, movement, texture and expressive mark-making, bringing together layered surfaces, unexpected combinations and intuitive gestures. I’m drawn to the tension between softness and strength, spontaneity and intention, and the way colours can transform the feeling of a space.
Whether through an original abstract painting or a contemporary pop-art portrait, my intention is simple: to create art that makes everyday life feel a little more colourful.
Because life is complicated enough. Art should bring a little joy.
As a self-taught artist, I continue to develop my practice through experimentation, curiosity and a willingness to embrace the unexpected. My original artworks are held in private collections in Australia.
